Add-ons allow you to personalize Internet Explorer for how you access your favorite content and services.
There are four distinct types of Add-ons:
- Search Providers
- Accelerators
- Web Slices
- Toolbars

Search Providers
Type a search term and see real-time, relevant search suggestions from your search provider.
Accelerators
Highlight text from any web page and then click on the blue Accelerator icon to instantly map an address, search a term, translate a phrase and do many other tasks.
Web Slices
Web Slices enable you to subscribe to certain parts of a website so that you can get real-time information directly from the favorites bar.
Toolbars
Toolbars add features (like stock tickers, bookmarks, and image viewers) to your browser.
